Academic Leave
Students may opt to take an Academic Leave for a maximum of two semesters if they have issues related to health, finances, their families, or if they are studying abroad in universities that are not in the list of AUCA partner universities. To officially declare an academic leave, a student must pay all outstanding tuition fees and submit an application to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, signed by the Department Chair, the Registrar, Financial Aid office, Administrative Services Center and Finance office. Taking an Academic Leave will have financial implications. Students should complete a check-out list on the study.auca.kg website.
After the 10th week of the semester, academic leave is only granted in exceptional circumstances. Students who do not return from academic leave on time will be dismissed from the University but are permitted to apply for re-admission.
