New Star Student Newspaper Returns to AUCA after Year-Long Hiatus
After a year-long hiatus, AUCA’s campus newspaper, The New Star, has returned to print under the stewardship of editor-in-chief Niloufar Rafat. The first issue of the newly revived student publication came out in December, and the next issue is slated to go to print in early February.

AUCA Team at AMICAL 2020 Annual Conference
AMICAL Consortium’s 17th annual meeting and conference took place at the American University of Kuwait on January 15-18, 2020. This year’s theme was  “Digital transformation at international liberal arts institutions: Innovation, collaboration & sustainability”. The AUCA was represented by a group of faculty members, librarians, technologists and a student. The AUCA team was the largest at the conference and each out of 13 team members contributed to the conference program by sharing their teaching experience, projects and collaboration activities.

On December 19, 2019, the American University of Central Asia hosted the awarding ceremony of the 2019 Mary Schweitzer Scholarship for Excellence. The Selection Committee has chosen Azhar Kaltarbekova, the forth-year student of Anthropology Program, to be the winner.

“My favorite class is definitely the one about Migration,” Mathilde Mallet.
Mathilde Mallet is an exchange student from France. She studies Social and Political sciences, majoring in Political Humanities at Sciences Po, Dijon. Before she didn't know anything about Central Asia, and now she is discovering many new things never known and thought about before. Choosing the university in CA, she realized the AUCA was the only option for her and a great opportunity to take classes related to her major, to discover new topics and different ways of thinking.

Professor at Mykolas Romeris University in Lithuania lectured AUCA students for a week
Prof. Salvija Mulevičienė lectured graduate and undergraduate students of AUCA on The Modernization of EU Insolvency Law topic between November 25-29.  She also introduced students to the Dual Degree opportunity with Mykolas Romeris University.
